What you need to know
So, what are P2P scams?
Basically, a P2P scam site is a domain set up for the purpose of selling an unsuspecting user a free product, duping visitors into installing spyware, dialers, trojans or viruses, attempting to make money from a free service (through domain cloning or hijacking) or a mixture of all of these.
For the average surfer who's taken an interest in the revolution which is file-sharing, these sites are incredibly easy to stumble upon and fall for.
Like the increase in the number of downloader's, the boom in the amount of scam sites has skyrocketed over the past couple of years. Dozens of domains exist for the sole purpose of leeching some quick cash from the potential, unsuspecting file-sharer.
After an awful lot of searching and clicking, a full list of rogue P2P sites has been compiled. Each link added to this site has been checked and ensured to be a scam.
Whenever a new site is found, we'll post it in the updates section.
